We went to 2 lakes looking for eagles, no luck. We did see tons of coots, mallards, cormorants, and some grebes. Have to find a better birding place next time. |

I have a scope that I take in the car too. I am not real good at using it, but learning or trying to learn. LOL I have several field guides I like. Some have different pictures or views than others. |

Dorothy, the correct birdier, just like me, My Peterson Eastern bird book goes with me all the time every place except Morningside Park.Now as cold this morning Just 0 or 32F. Will still be ice in places I bet. I've been trying to get a snap of 1 antler to see who he was. Good genes to still have 1 anlter attached |

No Owls, but lots of deer mostly bucks and at least half still had antlers. I woke up at 4:40 am a couple weeks ago up here. I had my window open as always. I heard some feral dogs barking. I knew they had something cornered or treed. I drove my truck out to the sound and could see their eyes. I jumped out of the truck and rushed the dogs figuring they were our regular small dogs. Wrong, two big dogs had an armadillo in a hole and they had chewed it's tail off and chewed a hole in it's back. I rushed the dogs with my arms up and hollering but they bowed up on me. The biggest circled me towards my truck headlights. I eventually ran them off and maybe saved the armadillo but, I will not do that again without a gun. BT |

Swans still on the lake, ducks and an eagle did a fly by almost landing on the top of the tree. It decided to go across the lake instead.Lots of different bird calls this morning. Isn't this great??? |

I saw a few swans yesterday here. very surprising I swear I heard a frog on my morning walk last Friday & Tues & Wed whenI walked by the semi dried up beaver pond. At first I was wondering what a cell phone was doing in there the first day I heard it, but when I heard it again the next day same time. I have to listen to my frog site & see what kind it was. probably a green frog |
